About Ahmad Ghassab

Ahmad Ghassab is a Palestinian artist and calligrapher. He was born in Amman, Jordan to a refugee family and was raised with a true passion for drawing and painting. His father walked him through the basics of calligraphy and sketching and critiqued his artwork as it matured.

After moving to the United States for his education, Ahmad developed love and admiration for both Eastern and Western cultures as well as an insight into the struggles of different people around the world. His work embraces themes from his hometown of Palestine and the larger Arab and Muslim world while also incorporating various motifs from his own life and experiences.

Ahmad’s artwork and calligraphy stretch across borders, unimpeded by boundaries, and fuses together his artistic talent with his devotion to activism, whether it brightens the hallways of the French embassy in Kuwait, beautifies a building wall in the nation’s capital, warms the home of a loving family, or frames the path to excellence for youth at a local community center.

The Grounding: The Food Rebellion

The Grounding: The Food Rebellion

Join us for this 2-week series as we explore how to reclaim our relationship with food through prophetic wisdom and divine connection.

Modern food culture is overwhelming, contradictory, and often spiritually hollow. From fad diets to food obsession, many of us are stuck in cycles that keep us in a constant state of stress, shame, or confusion—cycles that either ignore the Divine entirely or treat the body as an enemy to control.

But what if there’s another way?

In a world where food has become a battleground, how do we rediscover nourishment as a source of barakah and balance? How do we break the habits that keep us in survival mode and instead embrace a rhythm that reflects trust in Allah’s design?

Through engaging talks and grounded discussion, this series will offer a path back to clarity—replacing modern chaos with prophetic rhythm, restoring our body’s trust in us, and reconnecting our physical nourishment with spiritual intention.

This isn’t another diet. It’s a return.

Doors for the event open at 7:15 for coffee and connection, event starts at 7:30.

One ticket covers both weeks. Donations are greatly appreciated and help us fund future events!

Open to young professionals ages 21+, we look forward to seeing you there!

What Men Want - A Discussion on Marriage

What Men Want - A Discussion on Marriage

It's an age old question asked since the dawn of human civilization.  It's been asked by the young, the old.  The men and the women.  What is that men truly want?  Perhaps even more cutting, what is it that you truly want?

So it comes to seeking partnership, what is it that men seek?  Love?  Companionship? Validation?  Fulfillment?  Do men even know what they want or have they been deluded by the entrapments of society and technology into seeking something that they, in their heart of hearts, really do not want?

And how to women fit into all of this?  Do they have more insight into the aspirations and desires of man?  How can both men and women reconcile their conceptions of what partnership is with what marriage truly means in an Islamic paradigm?

Join us for as we seek to answer these questions in a special discussion with Imam Abdul-Malik Merchant and Brother Omar Khan as we seek to answer these questions are more.

Designed for both men and women, ages 18+, we will discuss a range of topics including romanticization, gender roles, commitment, superficiality, responsibility and more!  We greatly look forward to your attendance!

The Grounding: When God Delays

Join us for this 3-week series with Ustadh Osamah Saleh as we explore the concept of Delayed Gratification in Spirituality.

God is all-powerful and can do whatever he desires.  That is one of the reasons so many of us turn to him in faith that he will alleviate us from our tribulations and grant us that which we desire.

But for many, it feels like our prayers go unanswered, that we do not get what we pray for even when we desperately need it.  Why does it appear that God sometimes delays answering our prayers?  That, if anything, is the purpose of in being patient in spirituality?  What is the reason in this perceived delay from the Divine? And what is the value of knowing in God's time?

Comprised of an engaging lecture followed by meaningful discussions, this series will explore how we can find faith when we think our prayers are going unanswered and our when future plans feel uncertain.

Doors for the event open at 7:15 for coffee and connection, event starts at 7:30.

One ticket covers all 3 weeks.  Donations are greatly appricated and help us fund future events!

Open to young professionals ages 21+, we look forward to seeing you there!

About the Book:

When Remy Wadia left India for the United States, he carried his resentment of his cold and inscrutable mother with him and has kept his distance from her. Years later, he returns to Bombay, planning to adopt a baby from a young pregnant girl—and to see his elderly mother again before it is too late. She is in the hospital, has stopped talking, and seems to have given up on life.

Struck with guilt for not realizing just how ill she had become, Remy devotes himself to helping her recover and return home. But one day in her apartment he comes upon an old photograph that demands explanation. As shocking family secrets surface, Remy finds himself reevaluating his entire childhood and his relationship to his parents, just as he is on the cusp of becoming a parent himself. Can Remy learn to forgive others for their human frailties, or is he too wedded to his sorrow and anger over his parents’ long-ago decisions?

Surprising, devastating, and ultimately a story of redemption and healing still possible between a mother and son, The Museum of Failures is a tour de force from one of our most elegant storytellers about the mixed bag of love and regret. It is also, above all, a much-needed reminder that forgiveness comes from empathy for others.

The Myth and Madness of Finding Love: Part of the Prophetic Families Conference

Love.

There are so many different kinds.  The love between family.  The love between friends.  The love between a teacher and student and even love between an individual and an institution.  And we'd be remiss to not mention highest type of love, the love between Allah (SWT) and His creations.

They are all amazing, but they are not what we are talking about here.  And, based on that flyer, we think you already know that.  We are discussing the type of love between husband and wife, the type of love so many around us are seeking but not something not every human has.  And to add to its mystery, it's a love that not all humans understand even while is it something we crave.

So if not love, then what is it that we are truly searching for?  Companionship?  Reassurance?  Validation?  Fulfillment?  Something else? What are the false conceptions and illusions we have constructed around love, especially in a Western world where society, culture, and media all have countless even condraticingy narratives for what love it?  And can one love again when they've faced love lost?

Join us for as we seek to answer these questions in a special panel conversation featuring the family life expertise of therapist Masumeh Farchtchi, the faculties of marital councilor Sohaira Sultan, and the religious insight of Imam Kebba Sallah.

Designed for both married and unmarried attendees 18+, we will discuss a range of topics including romanticization, gender roles, chemistry, commitment and more, all with the end goal of identifying what true and healthy romantic love looks like, how we can see it out, and how it can be cultivated for the sake of Allah (SWT).

Taking place in the gym, this special event is held in collaboration with the ADAMS Qurtuba Prophetic Families Conference.  You may may register for this Qahwa event individually or for the entire Prophetic Families Conference, tickets for which you can purchase here: www.givebutter.com/pf25

Additional donations to allow us to keep this event free and accessible to ADAMS Youth, Young Adults, and Young Professionals!  We greatly look forward to your attendance!

UmmaTea x Prophetic Families: Improving Relationships with Our Parents

Please join us for a special installment of our monthly UmmaTea session, open to the community, hosted by ADAMS Young Adults in partnership with the ADAMS Qurtuba Prophetic Families Conference (www.givebutter.com/pf25)! We will gather together with our beloved Imam Magid for a captivating 21+ late-night, tea-time discussion as we explore our question(s) of the month kicking off the conference: "How can we learn from the sunnah to improve relationships with our parents as adult children?”

Many of us have complicated relationships with our parents as we get older and seek to understand the best way to fulfill our obligations to our parents and also navigate the world as adults. Some of us feel disconnected from our parents on a personal level, making difficult to truly see them, and feel seen in return. Join us as we tackle this very important aspect of the Prophetic Family and Community.

Submit your questions in advance here: https://forms.gle/3xKd3taEPwKdo5Gx8

Please come with a notebook, a pen, and your own water bottle. Tea and snacks will be served as usual. Please arrive on time— we will open the doors at 8:00 for tea time and then begin the main program after promptly after Magrib, insha’Allah.

We welcome all members of our community over 21 to attend this event!  You may register for this event individually or for the entire Prophetic Families Conference, the ticket for which you can purchase here: www.givebutter.com/pf25
