We’ll hear from Sisters Nazish Qureshi and Kori Majeed, climate justice leaders active in the DMV and beyond and explore how we might come together as a Muslim Climate Collective to speak out locally for a livable and just future for all.

Nazish Qureshi
Founder and Executive Director of Muslim Climate Watch
Nazish is the founder and Executive Director of Muslim Climate Watch. In this pivotal role, she empowers Muslims around the world to become ardent advocates for climate and environmental justice, and combating the climate crisis with solutions embedded in Islamic principles and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). In partnership with Interfaith Power & Light (DC.MD.NoVA), Nazish is currently convening the Muslim Climate Collective DMV, an emerging hub for Muslim climate advocates in the DMV.
Kori Majeed
Founder of Green Ramadan
Since 2013, Kori Majeed has used her Green Ramadan platform to encourage Muslims to eat mindfully and tread lightly by cultivating sustainable habits during Ramadan. Kori is a Maryland Master Naturalist, chair of the Green Team at Masjid Muhammad, the Nation’s Mosque, in Washington DC, and 2022 graduate in Islamic Studies from Bayan Islamic Graduate School. Kori is also co-author of the ebook Forty Green Hadith: Sayings of the Prophet Muhammadﷺ on Environmental Justice & Sustainability.
