The Grounding: Finding Comfort in Discomfort

  • 46903 Sugarland Rd Sterling, VA 20164 USA (map)

Join us in this 3-week Series with Othman Altalib on Finding Comfort in Discomfort!

We live in a society defined not just by necessary but by luxury.  But have these luxuries dampened our ability to persevere and overcome?  Have we become so accustomed to comfort that we are unable to deal with discomfort?  Why did Allah create discomfort and how can we embrace it to live fuller and more productively as Muslims?

Find out the answers to these questions and more by learning the purpose of discomfort and how to best face the inevitable difficulties we will experience in our lives.  Explore how we can be content with the discomfort and grow from difficult experiences.  Discuss not just the theoretical concept of discomfort, but the very real physical, mental, and emotional discomfort in our lives and how we can use it to transform ourselves into better Muslims.

Comprise of a lecture and discussion circles, doors for the event open at 7:45 for socialization, event starts at 8.

One ticket covers all 3 weeks and are available at the door.  Donations are greatly appricated and help us fund future events! Open to young professionals ages 21+

About Othman Altalib

Othman Altalib lives by one central mission: inspiring others to find their purpose and live it with passion every single day, all while putting the ummah first. With nearly 15 years leading teams at IBM, Google, and multiple startups, he’s cultivated the discipline to RYSE above challenges while helping others do the same. As a 2x Ironman 70.3 and 5x triathlon finisher, Othman’s pursuit of pushing physical and mental boundaries became contagious, inspiring even his young sons to join him in completing their own triathlons at the ages of 6 and 9, embracing the same mindset of resilience as a family.

For 20 years, Othman has delivered Khutbahs across the country focusing on aligning our purpose with the greater good of the ummah, reminding us that true leadership means serving something larger than ourselves. Through RYSE Coaching, Othman helps individuals identify their "why" and cultivate the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical fortitude to live by it. His mission is to help people RYSE beyond their limitations, live with purpose, and contribute meaningfully to the world, so that our legacy extends far beyond us, and uplifts the Ummah for generations to come.
